Over Easy Ipsy – July 2017 Ipsy Bag Review

July 2017 Ipsy bag

This month Ipsy decided to throw us the adorable themed bag of Gudetama, aka the Sanrio sleepy egg.  He is so stinking cute!  I have to admit this is by far my favorite themed bag I have received to date.  That being said, the contents of the bag were not my favorite, but my cute little egg bag made up for that.  Even though I’m pushing 40 years old, I was so freaking thrilled to receive my adorable little yellow pouch with the #ipsyovereasy theme this month.  I’ve been loving Sanrio characters since the 70’s and Gudetama is no exception. SQUEEEEEEE

IBY Beauty Crease Brush

Now on to the contents of the bag.  First up is the IBY Beauty Crease Brush (valued at $12).  I for one could really use some new brushes and tools, so getting this in my bag was perfect.  It is great for adding a dramatic color to the crease of your eyes.  I’m looking forward to using this brush with my new Too Faced Peach Palette I just ordered.

Ciate London Wonderwand Gel-Kohl Hybrid Liner in Black

Next up is the Ciate London Wonderwand Gel-Kohl Hybrid Liner in Black (valued at $10) — Full sized!  This is a double ended liner.  One end includes a blending brush that is called the “magic wand”.  It is great for a variety of looks – from a razor sharp cat eyes to a smoked out, slept-in smudgy look if you’d like!  I have to admit I rarely –if ever– wear eyeliner, but I’m going to give it a try.  I’ve been watching more youtube beauty videos lately and feel like I need to give it a shot again, so this was a good item in the bag.

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Deep Dive Cleansing Gel

One cool thing about Ipsy is you can request one item each month.  I *believe* I requested this item for my bag, but can’t remember fully.  It is the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Deep Dive Cleansing Gel.  Sadly, this sample was smaller than I expected (valued at $1.25).  This cleanser is supposed to be perfect for daily use, non-drying, vegan and will even remove water-proof makeup.  I tried it out last night and found it to be a good cleanser.  It removed several layers of mascara and did not feel drying to my already dry skin.

mPrincess Pressed Eyeshadow in Biscuit

This month I got a full sized shadow – yay!  mPrincess Pressed Eyeshadow in Biscuit (valued at $15.45).  This is a wonderful neutral or transition shade.  I also see this as a great shade to highlight the brow bone.  Today I used this as my base shade and really enjoyed the formula.

BRTC Jasmine Waterful Sleeping Mask

Last item in my bag this month is the BRTC Jasmine Waterful Sleeping Mask.  This beauty product originates from Korea and I’m having a hard time finding the price but I believe it is (valued at $8.99).  This mask is infused with the relaxing jasmine scent that is reminiscint of a day at the spa. I used this tonight after washing my face with Tarte cleanser and to me, it was a lightweight moisturizer.  I have a fetish for thick creams and use Origins Drink Up Intensive nigh mask daily, so I’m not sure this is something I would ever purchase.  However, I don’t know if it is my imagination or not, but my skin did seem dewier — or fresher — this am!

Overall my bag had a value of $47.69!  Quite a steal for a $10 subscription box.  I hope, I hope, I HOPE that Ipsy does another Sanrio character bag.  I just adore these.  Maybe next time they can do Deerly Lou, or Badtz Maru or Chococat –or — or — I could go on and on!
